Mission Colombia Ministry Update → August 2026
Mission Colombia has seen explosive growth over the past 12 months. So much has happened that it can’t be fully explained in this brief update. However, we will focus on the highlights in the hope that you can see a bit of what the Lord is doing in Colombia.
First, we want to thank the Lord as He has continued to faithfully provide for our needs over the past twelve months. We also want to thank everyone who has supported this ministry through prayers and contributions.
We have seen Mission Colombia formally expanded the ministry into the state of La Guajia, Colombia. Where we have partnered with a team of Wayuu believers to better serve the Wayuu people. It’s exciting to report that we are now working with 36 Churches spread across several cities and rancherias (villages) churches in that region. Mission Colombia is now operating in two different states in Colombia, Atlantico & La Guajia.
Below is a brief overview update on the various aspects and outreaches of the ministry.
Teaching Equipping and Sending
During the prior twelve months we conducted 2 Leadership Training Seminars, one for our Atlantico partners and one for La Guajia. These seminars require a significant amount of planning and prework as the logistics of arranging travel, meals and accommodation for the attendees is a challenge. That doesn’t include arranging translators, teaching materials and all the misc. necessary preparation. The Lord continues to be faithful in blessing the work. The seminars saw over 190 pastor/leaders in attendance. They studied, listened, shared and left excited to return to their homes and villages to share the good news of Jesus Christ.
We are in the early stages of planning two seminars in 2027.
Building Churches
We are also happy to report that we have now completed the funding and construction of 10 church buildings in Colombia. The last two, one each in Atlantico and La Guajia have just been completed. With each new church we see the local body increase in weekly attendance and the children’s ministry greatly expand. We are excited to share that another church the 11th is currently under construction.
After much prayer and planning Mission Colombia is planning and trusting on the funding to build 3 new churches in the coming 12 months.

Door to Door Evangelism
An essential part of the ministry is going door to door in the neighborhoods that surround the local churches. We take to the streets in four person teams, two each from the USA and two from a Colombian church partner. During these visits we take time not to just meet but get to know the people we’re visiting with. Talking about our lives and families and asking about their lives opens the door for sharing the gospel. In addition to inviting the adults to church we also invite the children to a Children’s Day. It is best described as a one-day Vacation Bible School where they sing, do crafts and learn about Jesus.
This year we completed 2 mission trips with 2 different teams from the US in the cities of Santo Tomas and Baranoa. During these two trips we were able to visit over 115 homes where 204 people made decisions for Christ. We also held 7 Children’s Days touching 300 children and sharing the Gospel.
Clean Water for Wayuu People
The Wayuu are the indigenous people in northern Colombia and have experienced and continue to experience tremendous discrimination resulting in extreme poverty. We realized two years ago that there was a tremendous need for clean safe drinking water in many of the Wayuu villages. It was put on our hearts to make access to clean water a part of our ministry to the Wayuu as an example of Jesus love for them. The Lord has provided. We began the work and in the last 18 months Mission Colombia has been blessed to installed three freshwater wells and five water storage systems in eight villages, providing water to over 1000 people. We anticipate completing at least one additional well and four additional water system before the end of 2026, bringing the total to 13 villages and impacting almost 1700 people. We trust the Lord to provide the means to complete 10 additional water systems or wells in 2027. We know that our God is able to provide more than we can ask or imagine.
